Slug
Slugs may be the scourge of some gardeners, but they serve an important function within the natural order by providing food to different animals such as toads, ducks, chickens, many birds, etc.
Slugs, as a species, will eat almost ANYTHING, so long as it's unseasoned. Some can have up to 27,000 tiny microscopic teeth to help get the job done! I would not want to be a slug dentist.
They like to live in damp, moist areas, and generally, they prefer shade.
This all makes your garden the perfect place for them to hide out, and veg (see what I did there?). Strong Mint and flowers like Alliums are good deterrents, if you ever find yourself on the wrong side of a slug invasion.
Overall, slugs play an important role in our ecosystems, even if they can't stop snotting on everything.
